Playbook 12: Say Thank You

The Village That Helped Raise Your Senior
No one reaches senior year alone.
Behind every graduate is a community of people who showed up.
Teachers who stayed after school.
Coaches who believed in them.
Youth leaders who prayed with them.
Neighbors who cheered them on.
Grandparents who never missed a game.
Friends who became family.
Sometimes we move so quickly toward graduation that we forget to pause and thank the people who helped make this season possible.
Gratitude is one of the greatest gifts we can teach our children.
Not because it's polite.
Because it changes our hearts.
This week, encourage your senior to look back before looking ahead.
Who believed in them when they doubted themselves?
Who gave them opportunities?
Who prayed for them?
Who invested their time, wisdom, and love?
Those people deserve to know they made a difference.
A handwritten note.
A heartfelt text.
A phone call.
A hug after the game.
Small gestures often leave the biggest impact.
And one day, your senior may become that person in someone else's life.
This Week's Challenge
Together, make a list of five people who have positively influenced your senior.
Choose at least one and thank them this week.
Be specific.
Tell them exactly what they did and why it mattered.
Grateful hearts notice blessings that busy hearts often overlook.
Lord, Thank You for every person You placed in our lives during this season. Bless the teachers, coaches, mentors, pastors, friends, and family members who have helped shape my child. Help us never take their kindness for granted. Teach us to live with grateful hearts and generous words. Amen.
